Metal Building Financing · Central Texas

Financing your metal building in Central Texas.

A 40×60 steel shop or barndominium shell in the Hill Country runs $40,000 to $100,000 and up depending on size and finish. Most customers finance through their own bank, credit union, or ag lender. Here's what to know before you call us for a quote.

How Financing Works

We don't do the lending — but we work with your lender.

LR Mobile Welding & Contracting is a contractor, not a lender. We don't offer financing directly. What we do offer is a clean, itemized quote that your bank, credit union, or ag lender can use to process your loan — and we're easy to work with on draw schedules, documentation, and progress milestones.

01

Construction loans

A construction loan pays out in draws as the project hits milestones — typically slab complete, steel erection complete, and final finish. Many banks and credit unions in Central Texas offer construction-to-permanent loans that roll into a standard mortgage once the building is done.

Start with a local bank or credit union in Comal, Bexar, Hays, or Kendall County — they know the market and can often move faster than large national lenders on rural and ag properties.

02

USDA Farm Service Agency & ag lenders

If your property has an agricultural exemption or you're building for farm and ranch use, you may qualify for FSA loans or ag-purpose financing through Texas Farm Credit or similar institutions. Interest rates and terms are often favorable for equipment barns, hay storage, and working ranch structures.

03

Home equity & HELOC

If you have equity in your property, a HELOC (home equity line of credit) is one of the faster ways to fund a metal building project. Particularly common for residential shops, garages, and barndominium additions where the building adds to the property value.

04

Personal or equipment loans

For smaller projects — carports, single-bay garages, RV covers — a personal loan or equipment loan can be a straightforward path. Some customers also use SBA loans for commercial structures. Talk to your bank about what fits the project size.

Financing Questions

Common questions about financing a metal building in Texas.

What does a metal building cost in Central Texas?

Shell pricing generally runs $25 to $60 per square foot depending on size, span, openings, and finish. A 40×60 steel shop shell often lands in the $40,000–$70,000 range. A fully finished barndominium shell with framing, panels, trim, and all openings cut can run significantly more. Call (512) 965-6429 and we'll give you a real number for your project.

What documentation will my lender need from you?

Most lenders want an itemized quote or contract, a project timeline, and sometimes the engineered drawings. We can provide all of that. Some lenders also want to see a licensed contractor — ask us and we'll get you what you need.

Do you work on draw schedules?

Yes. If your bank pays out in draws (common with construction loans), we can work with that schedule. We'll document progress at each milestone so your lender can release the next draw without delays.

Can I get a written quote to show my bank?

Absolutely. Call (512) 965-6429 or email luke@lrmobileweldingcontracting.com with your project details — size, location, intended use, and any drawings you have. We'll send you a written estimate suitable for your lender.
